Bathonians launch ‘Bath Water’ drawn from organic land

Local husband and wife entrepreneurs and their business partner are today launching their very own ‘Bath Water’ to satisfy the ever-increasing demand for healthy, local, natural products.

Bathonians, Mark and Rachel Allen, have teamed up with Bath-based film producer, Jonathan Willis, to launch ‘Bath Water’, a pure, natural spring water drawn from organic land, to a regional, national and international audience of hoteliers, bar and restaurant owners.

Drawn from organic land on the nearby Mendip Hills, from where Bath’s famous thermal water originates, the fresh, natural ‘Bath Water’ has been filtered through ancient limestone vales and bottled at source from an ancient spring to rejuvenate the people of Bath and beyond. Bath’s hot springs were discovered by King Bladud in 863BC and subsequently enjoyed by the Romans, Georgians and still appreciated world-wide today for their restorative properties.

Rachel Allen comments: “As proud Bathonians, we are really thrilled to be launching our refreshing spring water, which has been really well received by everyone we have presented it to in the trade. Our beautiful UNESCO world heritage city is internationally renowned for its water, so it’s totally mad that other parts of the UK draw their own dedicated spring waters, whilst our City of Bath, one of the UK’s most renowned spa cities, does not have its own bottled Bath spring water. It’s this gap in the market for a local, fresh and healthy water from Bath that we’re seeking to satisfy. We are delighted to offer ‘Bath Water’ in 330ml and 750ml glass bottles in both still and sparkling varieties and in 500ml plastic bottles also.”

Mark Allen comments: “We want ‘Bath Water’ to capture our passion for our city and locally sourced produce – to be ‘Bath in a bottle’. This is reflected in the values flowing through ‘Bath Water.’ It’s Authentic – we are continuing the tradition, started by Victorian entrepreneur “JB” Bowler, of providing a natural spring water, drawn from the original source of Bath’s spring water, from organic Mendip Hills land. Fun – ‘Bath Water’ is an obvious play on words capturing the essence of leisure and fun for which Bath is renowned. Fun, the very essence of the city, to honour our local culture and history. Modern Elegance – The elegant bottle label design takes you through a journey of Bath’s heritage, from the founder of Bath, King Bladud and his pigs in 863BC, the Victorian entrepreneur “JB” Bowler and of course the most famous of Bath’s landmarks; the Royal Crescent. And Purity – a refreshing pure spring water drawn from organic land for healthy hydration.”

Jonathan Willis comments: “Rachel, Mark and our respective families were having lunch last year and our idea was born! It’s nonsense that our beautiful heritage City of Bath, long-associated with water, does not have its very own brand of water. Until now that is! Victorian water bottling entrepreneur “JB” Bowler supplied Bath with water in 1864 and now we are continuing this tradition with Bath Water, with the original source of Bath’s water, a pure and refreshing spring water, which tastes great!”
